Our Volunteers: Steph

Liz

As Company Secretary, Employability Workshop Facilitator and part of our pop-up selling team, Steph is a crucial part of the Bramber team. She is a dedicated member of Bramber Bakehouse who puts her words into action and doesn’t shy away from new challenges.

In short, we couldn’t be without her.

We asked Steph about her time with us so far. Here’s what she had to say.

When did you first join Bramber Bakehouse?
‘I first joined Bramber Bakehouse in September 2017.’

Why did you want to join the charity?
‘I love that Bramber sows seeds of hope for the future, giving support and empowerment to women who have endured so much at the hands of others. Bramber Bakehouse brings positivity and encouragement to survivors and that’s something I really wanted to support.’

What has been your highlight so far?
‘The ongoing highlight is getting to know the women and being able to join them in their Bramber journey. I was able to bake with them one week as well, which I loved, although once the baking begins the kitchen goes silent with concentration!’

What would you say to people who have not yet heard about Bramber Bakehouse?
‘That Bramber is passionate about justice and ensuring that every woman through their doors knows her worth. They provide a great balance of practical skill and personal development…all topped off with delicious bakes.’

What’s your favourite Bramber bake?
‘It’s got to be the tiffin or white chocolate and cranberry flapjack…’
